Wash and soak dal for 2 hours
Strain water and grind dal into a very smooth batter by adding little water.
Take all purpose flour, corn flour and baking powder and mix into a smooth lump-free batter by adding water, little by little.
Add food colour and dal paste and mix well with a wire whisk. the batter must be thick like idli batter.
To make sugar syrup; in a pan add sugar and 1 & 1/8 cup water and boil till sugar melts completely
Cook the syrup for another 5-6 minutes to get 1 string consistency.
Switch off the flame. Add cardamom powder and lemon juice and mix.
For frying jalebis; in a piping / disposable bag make a small cut in the end.
Pour the batter in the prepared bag and make jalebis.
Be careful to fry 3-4 jalebis at a time. Strain them to remove excess oil and dip them immediately into warm sugar syrup.
Leave them in syrup for 2 minutes. Strain after 2 minutes and jalebi is ready to eat.
Make all jalebi in same way with all the batter.
